Proficiency in the target language is often the goal of many foreign language programs. Countries, provinces and states create foreign language curriculum and many create proficiency guidelines, national standards or provincial standards of achievement. Student success is directly related to the ability to communicate effectively with as few errors as possible, depending on the program objectives.
The language structures we target for prevention and correction are found in the curriculum of most Foreign Language or French as a second language programs. They are usually presented formally to students age 9-16+.

Connections to the Ontario Curriculum
Everything we have created relates directly to curriculum expectations outlined by the Ontario Ministry for Grades 4-9 in the Core, Extended or Immersion guidelines. If the songs are introduced before students are exposed to specific expectations, they can be used to prevent errors. If students have already been exposed to specific expectations and are making errors, the songs and interventions can be used to correct errors.
